And the Rains Came Down...

Ok,  funny story, the place where we do our emailing, it a lovely place and when it rains it is really hard to keep the internet up, also the roof has a ton of holes, so there is a puddle of water slowly making its way to the wires that are on the ground, the worker, keeps checking for the water to get close, it is awesome, and only decided to rain , rain today- we have had a pretty heavy down pour....I love it!!!! This past week was quite wonderful, with today being the exception we had a really hot humid week.. which was fun, but really hard, the sun is really strong here- my companion likes to say, that while the sun shines everywhere it really likes to give Paraguay hugs, and that why it is so hot here. She is amazing, this change has been wonderful, even thought the area is really hard, we are really trying to make the best of what we have. But things that happened this week, well last week, we bought jerseys for Santani , they are really cool, I was stoked because it was my first!!! Yea! Anyhow we had zone conference this week, and while we usually have it in Santani, this time we went to Santa Rosa, which is a 2.5 hour bus ride, and once we got there, while the conference was wonderful we all had a pretty hard time paying attention, because the church in Santa Rosa is a rented space that does not have AC.... and yes it was rather interesting, but zone conferences are the best I really do love being the only Hermanas in our zone, it is really cool :) Other stuff that happened , we moved our dinner table in our room yesterday to eat lunch, cause that room has AC, that was fun :) Today was the birthday of our district leader and we did some stuff for his birthday, which included playing soccer in the rain...and I forgot my tennis shoes at the house, so I played in socks..yes mom I know, not the best Ideas, but it was a ton of fun. Looking forward to this week, this is the last full week in the change, and next Monday is the last p-day in the change, who knows what will happen? But I am excited, not for changes, because my companion is the bomb, but it will be good! A scripture that I love d this week, Romans 8: 31 (last part), 35, 37-39 have a great week!!!

Chocolate Chips

Hey guys, I hope you all had a wonderful week, I learned that you should never watch sad mormon messages in public, because you will cry, keep that in mind folks. Really cool things that happened this past week I saw a baby falcon, that a member found on the side of the road, really cool (photo lackin, sorry). We also had divisions this past week, which went well. We ran into a crazy man in the road, who decided that pants are over-rated and only losers wear them, so that was fun. People are the best!! I have decided that I have the worst luck with contacts...really usually they are all crazies, but it makes the work fun, which I love!! Kinda had a little cold this week, but I am feeling much better now! Ohh my golly goodness, chocolate chips from the states are the best! I have missed those man, the Hermana I did divisions with had some and she gave me the bag, it was amazing! Anyhow Santani is doing pretty well, changes are coming up really fast, which is weird, It feels like yesterday I was getting a new companion and now, I do not know what will happen!!! But looking forward to this week! I hope you all have a great week!!!!! Hang in there, love you guys.
Love,
Hermana Douglas

Take a Picture

You lovely people, who are on a different continent...wow that seems really far away, what in the world crazies you are in America, and so am I!!!! (Just a little different...it is like America but...South)

And for you uncultured swine, who did not catch the reference that was from Up.  ( and a little bit of Toy Story).

Anyhow things here are wonderful, this week was great! We have had a ton of rain these last couple of days, which has meant a ton of mud...imagine skiing in mud, and you will have the mental image of how it is to walk for hours on end in said mud... it is a ton of fun, and crazy, but I love it!
This is the image I (Taina's sister, Kaia) had when Taina said she was skiing in the mud
Holy cow, I am almost out of time, but I am loving every moment, my companion is amazing, it is really cool to be with a Latina, plus she is from Paraguay, which is doubly cool. The work is moving along, try to work as hard as possible to strengthen the members and find new people to teach. But it was a wonderful week, and I hope you are all doing well!!!

Hang in there! Go back and read conference, I never really appreciated it before, but now I can see that the teaching of our leaders are for our day and for you right now, so take advantage of it please, you are all for blessed and I know God has wonderful blessings in store for you guys!! Have a great week, follow the prophet, eat your veggies, and please listen to your parents, or not up to you!!!
Love ya,
