Today was quite beautiful, "not to hot, not to cold, all you need is a light jacket"- besides the fact that it is not April 25 :) Only one more day till the weekend, I can not wait!!
Today before my Institute I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants and I was focusing on words of wisdom that I would need for my mission and I found quite a few in the first couple chapters, it was amazing Faith building experience because these were the answers I was looking for.
Here is what I found:
Doctrine and Covenants 3:3
3 Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men;
--Sometimes people will tell you that the time you served wont really make a difference, but the truth is no matter how successful your mission is the word of God will spread, and not fail.

Doctrine and Covenants 5: 2-3
2 ...you should stand as a witness of these things;
3 And I have caused that you should enter into a covenant with me, that you should not show them except those persons to whom I commanded you; and you have no power over them except I grant it to you.
-- On a mission our focus should always be on others, we will only be able to touch peoples lives if we allow him to work through us. I loved this verse because it focuses on us perfecting ourselves in order to influence others.

Another great reference if you are struggling if anything not just mission preparation is
Elder Jeffery R. Holland's talk: Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence.
I am very excited for my mission and am working hard to prepare to serve, but we don't have to do it by ourselves. Preparing will only make Satan want to take us down even more, be strong and take courage in the fact that countless other Sisters are going through the same things!!
