Okay so I know I didn't post yesterday, but all I did was have practice and then stake conference which continued into today so I figured I would just wait. So we had Elder Robert C. Gay come and speak to our stake, and can I just say he is amazing!!! I enjoyed every single thing he said, all of it was easy to understand and very accessible to those who were willing to take what was taught an d apply it. All of the experiences that he shared were highly personal and I am grateful he was wiling to divulge those to us, even though it may of not been comfortable for him. He is a true pillar of light and has had experiences that emphasize the light of Christ in his life, and I am excited to be able to serve the Lord in such a way that will help achieve that very light in my own life.
Update: My brother gets home from his mission on Wednesday and I could not be more excited!!!! He is serving in Colombia and doing amazing, but I am super excited to see him and be able to have him share his experiences with me about his mission.
Have a great day tomorrow!!! See you soon brother :)

Friday!!!!! It is like the triple scoop ice cream cone of the week!! So much fun. Anyway today I had the opportunity to go to the temple and also hear from Al Fox Caraway who gave a devotional at my school :) both were amazing! First of which, the devotional: she is such a fantastic speaker and so full of energy I loved it, and was able to relate to her much more then other speakers. Sister Caraway has a spark in her that was wonderful to see, just imagine if everyone went around with that fire in their lives, how much brighter the world would be. Amazing! At the Logan temple I was able to do a session and it was wonderful! The temple is amazing, and I love the opportunity I have to be able to go.
My brother gets home from his mission next week, and I can not wait to be able to go to the temple with him for a session!! He as also promised to help me work on my Spanish :) so we are in for an adventure. Have a great weekend!

Today was quite beautiful, "not to hot, not to cold, all you need is a light jacket"- besides the fact that it is not April 25 :) Only one more day till the weekend, I can not wait!!
Today before my Institute I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants and I was focusing on words of wisdom that I would need for my mission and I found quite a few in the first couple chapters, it was amazing Faith building experience because these were the answers I was looking for.
Here is what I found:

Here is what I found:
Doctrine and Covenants 3:3
3 Remember, remember that it is not the work of God that is frustrated, but the work of men;
--Sometimes people will tell you that the time you served wont really make a difference, but the truth is no matter how successful your mission is the word of God will spread, and not fail.
Doctrine and Covenants 5: 2-3
2 ...you should stand as a witness of these things;
3 And I have caused that you should enter into a covenant with me, that you should not show them except those persons to whom I commanded you; and you have no power over them except I grant it to you.
-- On a mission our focus should always be on others, we will only be able to touch peoples lives if we allow him to work through us. I loved this verse because it focuses on us perfecting ourselves in order to influence others.
Another great reference if you are struggling if anything not just mission preparation is
Elder Jeffery R. Holland's talk: Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence.
I am very excited for my mission and am working hard to prepare to serve, but we don't have to do it by ourselves. Preparing will only make Satan want to take us down even more, be strong and take courage in the fact that countless other Sisters are going through the same things!!

Well Happy Wednesday!!! Hope everything was wonderful. Today was actually quite good and I am so glad it was a bright warm day. Winter has forgotten to exist and from the weather presented so far I don't think any of us mind :)
Today in mission preparation we focused on Christ-like Attributes and how we have to strive to have these in our lives in order to represent the Lord properly on our missions. I loved it! It was wonderful and one of the scriptures I read really stuck with me...

Moroni 7:33
33 And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.
While on our missions we are going to be tested and it will change our lives, if we come back the same then the mission was failed, but according to this scripture we are able to take comfort in the fact that if we have the Faith, the power will be given to us to succeed.
Focusing on this I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow, technically it is Friday for those classes you only have on Tuesday and Thursday :) Hang in there, the weekend is coming!!

So as of January 27 I have been called to serve in the Paraguay Asunción North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!!! I leave May 21st 2015, which from today is in 65 days... it's crazy how little time I have left. Anywho, I am beyond excited to serve the Lord and spread His gospel to the people of Paraguay :) As that time does get closer I am going to be posting my thoughts and feelings about everything, whether it be my favorite scriptures to just impressions of the day, it will be here.
Day # 1
Favorite Quote:
"I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship."- Louisa May Alcott
I love this quote, it is so simple and focused on why we shouldn't be afraid to live and make mistakes. Everyone else is also working to get though life, or learning how to sail their ships, It's a beautiful thought that we are not alone.
Thoughts for the day:
-No matter how bad your day is, look for at least one thing that did go alright, whether it be something as simple as wearing cute shoes, or finding out you aced a test, both situations deserve to be the highlights of your day!
-Rain is the best (even though it isn't raining in Logan, just the thought of it makes me happy)
-If all else fails chocolate and Pinterest are always the answer :)
-Learning Spanish is hard... trust me
- Quick random question- Are feet shoes?
Hope you all had a wonderful Saint Patties Day!!!
